MUMBAI: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal (SBSSD) celebrated the first centenary birth anniversary of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh as “Sadbhavna Diwas” on 21 September 2008 at Hanuman Vatika, Dilshad Garden here in New Delhi. The President of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal, Mrs. Manjeet Kaur Shunty and social worker Jitender Singh Shunty celebrate the birthday of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh every year with full enthusiasm. This year renowned Punjabi Pop Singer Daler Mehndi performed live and rocked the stage with his unconventional voice.
The main objective of SBSSD is to enlighten the patriotism among the new generation by reminisce of the sacrifice of legendry martyrs. On the occasion of Sadbhavana Diwas the Chief Guest was Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal president of the Shiromani Akali Dal. Apart from him many well known personalities from different arena were present to celebrate the Sadbhavna Diwas like, Honorable Delhi Mayor Smt. Aarti Mehra, Member of Parliament Mr. Trilochan Singh and Dr. Harshvardhan, Member of Legislative Assembly.
Live performance of famous Punjabi Pop singer Daler Mehndi overflowed patriotism which filled the ambiance with great joy and enthusiasm. He initiated his performance with patriotic song dedicated to Saheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and after that the famous ‘Rang De Basanti’ song exhilarated the audience with delight. The fans were enjoying the beats and rhythm of the Bhangra Dhol which slowly and steadily caught everyone in the clasp. Daler sung many famous songs of his albums from his evergreen songs like “Bol Tara Ra Ra”, “Tunak Tunak” to “Bhootni ke” his latest song from Singh is King.

The event was organized under the supervision of Mr. Jitender Singh Shunty. He has been actively involved in social work. The President of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal Smt. Manjeet Kaur Shunty told that, “Every year we celebrate Birth Anniversary of Saheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh with motive to inform the new generation about the sacrifice and emblazoning deed of martyrs and freedom fighters. We want to enlighten the flame of patriotism among the younger generation. “
Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal is a social service organization which is actively involved in many social welfare activities such as free cremation for unclaimed and poor dead bodies, free hearse van, free 24 hrs ambulance Service, blood donation and distribution of free tricycle for handicapped. This organization also has been an active member of Delhi disaster Management during the recent bomb blast in Delhi they even provided helping hands to the victims. They had been involved in various social works to serve society and humanity.
