‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ promises to be a complete entertainer with the ‘Aashiqui 2’ actor Aditya Roy Kapoor playing the role of a Lucknowi cook while the bubbly Parineeti Chopra plays a Hyderabadi shoe-sales girl disillusioned with love. Daawat-e-Ishq:
Apt to the title, ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ the song, is a qawaali and is sung by ‘Jashn-e-Ishqa’ singer Javed Ali. The best part about the track is the lyrics and is a conversational song. ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ mentions a number of food items like chashni and phirni. Overall the track is good and vocals of Sunidhi Chauhan and Javed Ali make the song very catchy.
Mannat:
The song ‘Mannat’ sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam, is a soothing number and is composed very beautifully by Sajid Wajid. The song has two versions and both sound great. The song somewhat resembles the title track of the television series ‘Alif Laila’ and gives you an Arabic feel. The music arrangement of the song is commendable. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal as usual perfectly blend their voices with each other.
Rangreli:
The song is a typical shaadi track with beats of the dhool and trumpets. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Wajid, ‘Rangreli’ is a conversational track between the girl and a boy. The only disappointment about this song is that it could be better with the vocals of any other prominent singer and not Wajid.
Shayaraana:
Shayaraana, sung by Shalmali Kholgalde is very beautiful as it has those easy western beats which please your ears. The ‘Pareshaan’ singer has taken the song to a complete different level with her vocals. Good track!
Jaadu Tone Waaliyan:
Heavy guitar beats blending well with the traditional instruments like dhool and the vocals of Shahab Sabri remind you of Rahet Fateh Ali Khan. There is actually nothing about the track that would catch your attention apart from the fact that Sabri is loud.
Overall, the tracks of the film are good and have a mix of slow and fast songs. They make you go to theatres to watch the movie. The music has somewhat lived up to the expectations of the people.
