MUMBAI: Film director Vikram Bhatt is foraying into the music business scene and is planning to launch a music label, ASA Music. This sister concern of Bhatt’s ASA Productions will be open to market music produced by other production houses as well.
Confirms Vikram Bhatt, “We would be marketing and distributing film as well as non-film music and are also ready to market films outside ASA Productions.”
ASA Music will be headed by Crescendo managing director Suresh Thomas. Says Thomas, Vikram just wanted an inhouse label to promote his ASA productions but soon we thought of launching a full-fledged label. The label will be open to promote productions by other producers as well….

The two companies will continue to be two separate entities and I will head both the companies. ASA music will be open to everything a new age music label should do, looking out for devotional, classical, film, non-film, international etc,… he adds.
ASA Music is in talks with licensing arm, IMI (Indian Music Industry) to get affiliated with PPL (Phonographic Performance Ltd.) and IPRS (Indian Performance Rights Society limited).
