MUMBAI: To celebrate India’s rich music culture, Coke Studio@MTV is back with its third season.
The first two seasons of Coke Studio@MTV brought a confluence of diverse musical genres – both vocal and instrumental – from traditional to contemporary, from regional to folk.
All eight episodes in the season are being produced by different producers. AR Rahman, Amit Trivedi, Ram Sampath, Salim – Sulaiman, Clinton Cerejo, Hitesh Sonik and Papon are the music producers in the third season set to air this August. The eighth episode will see six young artists who will produce one song each. The winners of the Leap Frog to Coke Studio@MTV, WinitTickoo, a Mumbai based band that will feature in the eighth, multi-producer episode.
MTV India EVP and business head Aditya Swamy said, “We have created over 100 songs and worked with more than 300 artists across every possible genre in the first two seasons. What started out as a cult is now growing into the mainstream. With season 3, we are looking to stretch the boundaries on experimentation and collaboration to create songs that will make our listeners proud of our country’s rich musical landscape.”
Coca-Cola India Integrated Marketing Communications director Wasim Basir said, “Coke Studio is a one of its kind platform that has made an attempt to unite our diverse country’s myriad musical disciplines to create exceptional musical confluences. The response to Season 2 was overwhelming and Season 3 will build on the learnings of the previous two seasons.”
