MUMBAI: Clapstem Productions, a subsidiary of the RSL group has joined hands with Punjabi sufi singer Hans Raj Hans to promote folk and sufi music.
The singer, who was recently awarded the Padmashri, has signed a two year contract with Clapstem Productions, which will be the official production house for organising all Hans Raj Hans shows and events. Clapstem will soon launch the ‘Hans Raj Hans academies of Music’. This venture is being seen as an attempt to promote and popularize two of the most traditional forms of music, folk and sufi. Clapstem Productions is managed by Onkar Anand, Puneet Singh and Girish Malik, who say the academy for sufi and folk songs will be a pioneering step in providing younger generations an opportunity to learn the same.
The Hans Raj Hans academies of Music will be opened nationwide and will give training to music lovers. The singer will himself overlook the training sessions and overall work.
Clapstem Productions has also lined up a movie on the journey of the life of Hans Raj Hans from his initial phase of struggles to this self-made stage, titled “A journey to Padma Shree”.
