MUMBAI: The country will soon have great international entertainment, in the form of musicals, said Mohammad Morani, director of Cineyug. The revelation came at FICCI Frames 2015, in which he confirmed that the event company has tied up with Disney, which will make for a great future in terms of live entertainment.
Morani stated that for the first time, the country will see international musicals like Phantom of the Opera, Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. While there is no confirmation on how soon musicals will come to the country, it is likely that the musical will be held at NSCI, which Morani mentioned during the panel, has a venue called the Dome. “That is where I see the future of entertainment,” he added.
Elaborating on the Dome, he said that the venue is being modelled after Live Nation AEG, the biggest venue owner across the world, who own and program their venues. “We have programmers like Percept, OML and Viacom; they come into the venue and find it is the best place to work. However, we have problems which make it hard for them,” he stated.

Moorani also added that at the end of this month, they would be putting forward a presentation to the Maharashtra Government, presenting the various problems faced by live promoters including clearances, tax and licences. By doing so he said that they are hoping to create the ultimate entertainment hub at the Dome.
He added that it will eliminate the need for people to take the venue for many days. “We are trying to put the best system in the world in to place, where people can just come, plug and play. We want to give people facilities, an experience, food, banquet halls. In the next six months, there will be a lot of changes at the Dome, and we will be working on all the problems that our partners have and solve it for them,” he said.
Morani also stated that they have taken their plans to the Chief Minister, and he is positive about it. “We want to make it the envy of the country,” he added about the Dome.
