Chris Brown unveils MJ style new video ‘Fine China’

MUMBAI:  R&B singer Chris Brown has released the lead single ‘Fine China’ from his upcoming album ‘X’ . Brown premiered the music video for the new single on 1 Aprill and the album will be out later this year on RCA Records.

Co-directed by Sylvain White, the video starts off with the father reminding his daughter of the rules and codes of triad crime gang and yelling at her to end her relation with Brown who is currently waiting outside her house in the red Lamborghini.

Brown, who co-wrote the single with Sevyn Streeter, Eric Bellinger and Roccstar, told Billboard , “I wanted to touch musically on Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Sam Cooke and incorporate those influences with the new.”

Michael Jackson’s (MJ) touch in the music and video is appealing. His wooing moves and vocal mannerism remind legendary pop-start MJ but surely Brown’s movies cannot beat Jackson.  Brown had taken his love for MJ to totally different level. The slight bend Brown gives to his shoulders is so very MJ style.

‘I’m not dangerous. When you’re mine, I’ll be generous. You’re irreplaceable, a collectible. Just like fine china’- by the end of the track you are humming these lines.

The end of the video is a bit mysteries as we are not sure if Brown reunites with the girl or not.

‘X’ sees Brown re-teaming with Diplo (Usher, Britney Spears), who worked on 2011’s F.A.M.E, which hit No 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned Brown a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. The production team includes Grammy-winning producer Timbaland (David Guetta, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas) and Danja (Mary J. Blige, P!nk), both of whom worked on 2012’s chart-topping album Fortune, which debuted at No 1 on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and earned Brown a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
