Chhota Baccha Jaan Ke singer Aditya Narayan croons for Ram Leela

MUMBAI: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project Ram Leela will showcase the singing talent of Aditya Narayan, son of famed ‘Pehla Nasha’ singer Udit Narayan. The romantic-drama which has generated a major buzz with its recently released trailer setting a record of being the fastest to cross the two million view mark on YouTube. With the hype surrounding the project which is being produced and directed by Bhansali himself, Aditya is in an enviable place that many of his peers would give an arm for.

Though reports differ on how many tracks Narayan Jr has exactly been offered, what is confirmed that he will be contributing his voice for the big budget film.

Bhansali’s spokesperson has confirmed the development saying that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was impressed with Aditya’s work and he likes to encourage new talent. “He thinks Aditya has done a wonderful job.”

A former child actor, singer and television presenter, Aditya has been, for the past two years, working as an assistant director to Bhansali. In a pleasant twist of fate, filmmaker Bhansali was taken by Aditya’s vocal talents, which he believed perfectly suited a folk song and offered him a chance to sing for his ambitious project.

Aditya had the prerequisite experience having started playback singing in 1999 for Sooraj R Barjatya’s ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain.’ His singing CV also includes singing for songs including the title track for Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Shaapit Hua’ in 2009 where he also was the lead actor. Aditya was also awarded the ‘Screen Awards’ – for his song ‘Chhota Baccha Jaan Ke’ from the film ‘Masoom'(1996).

Ram Leela stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and is scheduled for release on 15 November.
