MUMBAI: The holy month of Ramzan has ended and here is a chance to spread the happiness with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr. Adding on to the festive cheer, radio stations have tuned their programming this week-end across their stations.
Radio statsions are giving away, ‘Edis’ for the occasion. In the financial capital Mumbai, retro station- Big FM has been capturing the essence of the festival as the RJs visited the most popular localities like Mohammad Ali Road, Haji Ali and Mahim Dargah where the festival is largely celebrated. The month-long festivity ends with ‘Big FM Ki Eidi’, on 10 August as the station’s RJ Harsh and RJ Siddharth host a special lunch for a select few listeners.
Listeners of Radio Mirchi will get their ‘Edis’ in the form of prizes. Mirchi RJs will engage the listeners with fun contests all over the day and present winners with attractive gifts. It will also capture all the action and bring listeners live updates from the streets of Mohammed Ali.
Rangeeli Ruchi of Fever FM’s Mumbai station is taking ten of her listeners for the last ‘Iftari’ of the season. She will be taking them to Noor Mohamaddi for the Rangeeli Ruchi Firni. Fever FM is spreading the relevance of various Eid rituals by getting ‘Maulavi’ at the station, for the week-end for the whole day. The Bangalore station of Fever FM is handing out ‘Eidi’ in the form of cash and shopping vouchers to its listeners. During the holy month of Ramadan along with its listeners of Banglore, Fever FM had broadcast live from the city’s busiest hot spot ‘MM Road’.
The jocks – Darius, Rubina, Shraddha, Punita, Sindhu, and Danish broadcast the evening drive amidst prayer calls and bursts of happiness at the call of ‘Iftari’. Inorder to strengthen its bond with the listeners, Radio City is celebrating in Eid in the city of Lucknow. The station celebrates Eid special giving away ‘Eidis’. The RJs visited various parts of the city since the day one of the festival and interacted with the listeners asking them about the FM station. The winners were given delightful gifts from Radio City. The festivity will continue throughout the week-end in various radio stations.
