Carrie Underwood bags top honours at 2012 CMT Music Awards

MUMBAI: Country singer Carrie Underwood swept away the top honours and was the big winner at 2012 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.

The singer bagged ‘Video of the Year’ for ‘Good Girl’ and ‘Collaborative Video of the Year’ with Brad Paisley for ‘Remind Me’.  Ecstatic on the win, Underwood tweeted, “Wow! Thanks so much guys from me and Brad Paisley! We won a CMT award!!!… Thank you so much! These CMT awards belong to all of us! What an amazing night!”

Jason Aldean won his first CMT award in a special category ‘Performance of the Year’ for ‘Tattoos on This Town’. Other big winners of the night included Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Scotty McCreery and Thompson Square.

Hosted by Toby Keith and Kristen Bell,  the night  featured performances by Lady Antebellum in association with pop group Hot Chelle Rae,  Luke Bryan,  Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert all-girl group Pistol Annies, Little Big Town, Hank Williams, Jr, Brad Paisley, Eric Church , Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson, Darius Rucker, Toby Keith and more.
