BANGALORE: Padma Vibhushan Dr M Balamuralikrishna and Indian Classical Violinist (UK) Jyotsna Srikanth will perform together at â€?Fusion Dreams’- a Carnatic Jazz & World Fusion Concert, to be held on 7 January 2012 in Bangalore.
The other artiste line-up features musicians from across India and Europe including Shadrach Solomon – Keyboards, Keith Peters – Bass Guitar, Tony Das – Lead Guitar, N. Amruth – Indian Percussion, Bernhard Schimpelsberger (Taalis – UK / Austria) – Drums, Karthik Mani – World Percussion. The concert organized by Sparsh Foundation, will showcase the ultimate harmony of Indo-European maestros.

Dr Balamuralikrishna has composed over 400 compositions in various languages like Telugu, Sanskrit and Tamil. His compositions ranges from Devotional to Varnams, Krithis, Javalis and Thillans. His greatest achievement are the compositions in all the fundamental 72 melakartha ragas. Balamuralikrishna has received the National awards such as Padmashree, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. He is also the only Carnatic musician to have won Chevaliers of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Government.
Jyotsna Srikanth is Europe’s leading violinist from the south Indian Carnatic classical tradition. She is also well conversant with western classical styles, Indian jazz and World fusion. She has recently released an album for Times Music where she has played violin in eight different styles. She has been featured in major global music events like WOMAD – UK, BBC Proms, Red Violin Festival – Wales, British Parliament (House of Commons) where she performed for the British Prime minister David Cameron.
