MUMBAI: After launching its very own brand of vodka- ‘Killer Queen’ earlier this year, British rock band Queen will now be releasing a beer called ‘Bohemian Lager’. The beer, which has been described as “hoppy” and “golden”, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic rock band’s chart topping track- ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
Queen’s ‘Bohemian Lager’ will be brewed in the Czech Republic, and it will have a 4.7 per cent alcohol rating. Choosing to brew the larger in Czech is perhaps a well thought out decision, considering Bohemia is currently a part of Czech Republic. It is also likely that the beer will be a pilsner, which is a style of beer that originated in the Bohemian city of Plzen.
Reports also state that the lager’s label will feature the band’s crest, which was designed by Queen’s former frontman Freddie Mercury, while he was studying at Ealing Art College. The lager’s release follows the release of ‘Killer Queen’ vodka which also celebrates another of the band’s famous track by the same name.

With the launch of ‘Bohemian Lager’, Queen joins a number of other music acts that have their very own beers. This includes ‘Trooper’ by famous metal band Iron Maiden, which is brewed in Stockport by Robinsons Brewery, ‘Bastards Lager’ by Motorhead, ‘Badass American Lager’ by Kid Rock and ‘MMMHop’ by Hanson, amongst others.
