MUMBAI: The year 1995 witnessed the arrival of a new pop singer, Alisha Chinai with her song ‘Made in India’ that set the nation’s collective pulse soaring and helped Alisha to make her individual mark in the music industry.
Before making her mark as an indie music artist, Alisha was introduced to Bollywood music by veteran music director Bappi Lahri in 1985. Together, they gave many disco hits in films like ‘Tarzan’, ‘Dance Dance’, and ‘Commando’.
Although, the elegant singer appeared on the music scene only sporadically, her fans have remained loyal forever.
