MUMBAI: Big FM Chennai is hosting the â€?Mooduketha Mix Music Awards’ for the Tamil music industry. The awards, scheduled for 1 May earlier, have been postponed to 9 May to accommodate listeners’ requests.
Voting for the awards has been underway since 22 April, and the station says it has received over 22,000 votes so far. The station has nominated five songs for each of the five categories and listeners have to vote for their favourite song Big FM RJs will travel in their official buses to a particular area every day, and listeners can board the buses and cast their votes. Listeners can also vote via SMS for their favourite song.
Big FM Tamil Nadu cluster head P B Ramaswamy says, We utilised more of BTL campaign and made sure that the brand and the campaign was seen at various places. Our on-ground voting boosted awareness for the campaign….
The awards will be held on air on 1 May, and the station plans to invite select listeners to the studio to give away the awards.
The whole purpose of spike is to keep reinforcing the fact, that this radio station entirely caters to the music needs of the listener and it is the listener who is the hero. He gets to decide what is best for his mood and he himself gets to do the honours of giving away the award to the winning celebs, unlike other award ceremonies where there would be other celebs to give away the award,… comments Ramaswamy.
