MUMBAI: Big FM has launched MTS Big Studio and initiated the first ever unplugged radio festival on Kolkata airwaves.
Fifteen popular singers of Bangla Music will render their songs unplugged. Accompanied by acoustic instruments and free of electric/digital effects, the sound emanating from Big Studio will be refreshing version of the singers.
Hosted by RJ Arpan and Mahua, the show will go on-air everyday from 7 May at 6 pm, featuring singers like Manomay Bhattacharyya, Somlata Acharya Chowdhury, Kartik Das Baul, Anwesha Datta Gupta, Rupankar Bagchi, Raghab Chatterjee, Silajit Majumdar, Anindya Chatterjee (Chandrabindoo), Soumitra Ray ( Bhoomi ), Swapan Basu, Joy Sarkar, Siddhartha (Cactus), Srikanta Acharya, Anupam Roy and Rupam Islam.
The studio will offer listeners bouquet of Bengali music, across genres from Adhunik to Bangla rock, and Rabindrasangeet to folk. The artistes will also share stories behind their biggest hits and render songs of other legendary artistes.
Speaking on the occasion, the company spokesperson of 92.7 Big FM said, “Moner Gaan, Praner Sur…in an unplugged straight from the heart soundscape, that is what we promise listeners through Big Studio.”
As promotions, the full audio visual episodes of the studio will also be available on social media sites, including Facebook and YouTube the day after radio broadcast.
MTS Big Studio on Wheels, a mobile studio will scout for a talented performer in various parts of the city. A wild card entrant selected from the activity will get an opportunity to perform on the show.
