Big FM extends on-ground buzz with third Tamil Entertainment awards

MUMBAI: With on-ground activations creating a much bigger buzz, radio stations are aiming to encash on the same to build their brand. Leading the way forward in on-ground properties is Big FM who has announced the third edition of its ‘Big Tamil Entertainment Awards’.

Taking the event a notch higher, the network has roped in south superstar Dhanush as the face of the awards this year. It has also introduced new categories like Best Promoted Movie, Best Entertaining Youtube Video (Regional) and Best Entertaining Movie Trailer amongst others.

The annual entertainment awards conceptualized to provide a platform to recognize and acknowledge the contribution of the Tamil entertainment industry caters to various fields including Tamil cinema, music, dance, theatre, television and sports.

Big FM business head – North and South Ashwin Padmanabhan said, “The talent prevalent in the southern entertainment industry is enormous. We wanted to seize this opportunity to establish a platform for talent across various fields to be promoted and honoured. The southern entertainment industry has grown into a global phenomenon and we want to promote and leverage its power through the Big Tamil Entertainment Awards.

The awards will be promoted through an integrated marketing campaign including on-ground, television, radio and digital. It has partnered with The Hindu (print partner), Le Royal Meridian (hospitality partner), Jaya TV (television partner) and Skywalk (mall partner).

The network has now turned its focus towards on-ground activations by launching various regional awards across all its markets. It had recently launched the Rajasthani entertainment awards and Odiya music awards amongst others.
