MUMBAI: After Radio Mirchi, Big FM Delhi too has launched an initiative targeted at new admissions in the city colleges – the ‘Coolest Fresher of Campus’ contest.
Launching on 25 July, the contest aims in positioning relations between the youth and the radio station.
The contest has been conceptualized as a means to capture the excitement in colleges with the entry of a new batch of students. The ‘Fresher’ contest intends to create and provide a platform for all the freshers in colleges to showcase their talent to become the coolest fresher.

Mirchi, which launched the ‘Fachcha Khush Hua’ initiative recently (Fachcha stands for ‘freshers’ in Delhi lingo) aims at celebrating the spirit of freedom and masti for the young adults.
The Big FM contest on the other hand, primarily starts in North and South Delhi campuses. RJ Nitin who hosts ‘Chal Kat Le’ the evening show will visit colleges and screen participants through various rounds like talent, IQ and also to conduct various screening in each college. RJs will also visit the college campuses in a Biog float and conduct the screening on the same along with live links. The call for entries will commence from 25 July and will continue till 1 August.
The initial rounds will have in all 60 students short-listed based on the best performances. Six contestants will be shortlisted by Big RJs and further these contestants will be opened to SMS votes. A mix of on-ground; on-air and web based contests will result in the selection of the coolest male and female fresher of Delhi University.
The winners will get co-RJ-ing opportunity and many more grand prizes. The contest will have three phases of screening starting with the call for entries from 25 July to 1 August, to voting SMS 2 – 8 August, with a grand culmination by celebrity judges announcing the winner.

And hence to take this relation to a higher lever, we are introducing the ‘Fresher Ka King & Queen Kaun’ Contest in association with Double Mint Aqua Splash Chewing Gum¦showering our listeners with a fun-filled, cool yet competitive Fresher Contest. We as Delhi’s coolest radio station will provide a true ‘Life Banao’ opportunity for the youth of this city.”
