MUMBAI: ‘Ram Chahe Leela’ singer Bhoomi Trivedi started her singing career by participating in ‘Indian Idol Season 5’ and now is on the judging panel for the talent hunt show ‘India’s Digital Superstars’. The songstress is excited to be a part of the show, alongside folk singer Swaroop Khan.
“I am more than happy to be a part of a talent hunt show as it is open for anyone and everyone. Also people do no need to wait in long queues to display their talents. It has no limitations in terms of age or region. Videos have been pouring in from Russia, California and even towns from Kashmir so it is fun,” said Trivedi. The winner of the show will be given a contract worth Rs 20 Lakhs from FremantleMedia.
When asked if she remembers her days on ‘Indian Idol 5’ while watching the contestants, she said, “Yes absolutely I do, as my life changed completely after Indian Idol. Suddenly you are on TV and you become the talk of town. People started recognising me even without make up. Those are the most unforgettable days of my life.”

Since making her singing debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’, many have expected that she will also render vocals for films like ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Gabbar is Back’. Like many other singers, even Trivedi expects to croon songs in Bhansali’s films, but does not get disappointed when that does not happen. “Making me or someone else sing in the film is not my decision. Also we need to understand that not every song is the same. Like any other singer I would want to have a track, but then I do not expect too much,” she explained.
Trivedi recently crooned a party song for the film ‘Hotel Beautifool’. The music of the song is composed by Sanjeev and Sameer. “I thank the composers of giving me the opportunity. The film features Johnny Lever who is my favourite comedian and the song has a drowsy feel and is a beach party number. It was fun singing this track,” she said on a concluding note.
