MUMBAI: Steering out of legal hassles, renowned producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali opted out-of-court settlement for the dispute over the popular song Chintata from Rowdy Rathore.
Bhansali shelled out Rs 5 million to Hyderabad-based music label Aditya Music, which claimed that it owned the rights of the song. The talented director was served a legal notice by the label over the super hit track, which was rehashed by music composers Sajid-Wajid.
As per the reports, rights of the original Telugu film ‘Vikramarkudu’ had been bought by Bhansali, but he was not aware of the fact that the song didn’t belong to the producers of the original film which led to the copyright tussle.
Directed by Prabhu Deva, the film starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha was released last week.
