MUMBAI: BBC World Service Trust skid away with the maximum number of metals in the music category at the Sixth Indian Telly Awards Technical Nite 2006 for their public service Aids awareness musical album Haath Se Haath Milaa. The album which brought together several Bollywood and small screen stars, along with renowned musical artists won awards in three categories with Javed Akhtar taking home the Best Lyrics award, Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy won the Best Music Director award and Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal bagged the Title Singer for a TV Show award.
The Sixth Indian Telly Awards Technical Nite 2006 held on 6 February 2007 with pomp and show, also saw Channel [V] walking away with two awards for the Best Music Channel award and Best Talk Show on an Entertainment Channel for Lola T[V]. Additionally, Zee TV`s musical talent hunt Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was awarded the Best Music Programme, while the Best Background Music for a TV Programme went to production house Aim Television Pvt Ltd., Prem Joshua for `The Maharaja Of Jodhpur – The Legacy Lives on….`
Keeping the mood light were the amazing dance and music performances peppered through the awards event. The entertainment quotient was provided by fusion dancers Vrajesh and Kalyani who presented a unique Jazz meets Kathak performance while Pandit Ravindra Chary on sitar and Merlin rounded up the nite with some jazz, rock and blues.
