Bappi Lahiri scores FIFA single

MUMBAI: Cashing on the ongoing football fever, disco king Bappi Lahiri released a special song for FIFA (unofficial) titled ‘Football Fever’. The trademark Bappida style song comes in two versions – original and a remix version done by DJ Akhil Talreja.

Bappi Lahiri has tied up with digital music pioneers artistaloud.com for the songs download.

Speaking about the song, he says, “It’s an excellent song and all my fans will love it – it’s very fast, energetic and with lots of African beats.”

While the world gears up for the biggest sporting event, Lahiri also reveals his passion for football. The composer says he is a staunch supporter of Brazil.

“I also like Pele, he is my football Godfather, besides I adore Kaka and Ronaldo.”

Interestingly, the lyrics of his latest song ‘Football Fever’ are similar to a football song he composed in 2006 and go something like; ‘Germany ho ya France, Football se hai romance!’

Is the new song a rehash of the old one? Lahiri is quick to clarify, “That was a different song – it was ‘Ole Ole,” he says.

‘Football Fever’ can also be downloaded from i-tunes, and will soon be available on youtube.
