Besides this winning band, Pune based Abraxas were probably the second best act of the evening.

Stop abusing, grow up!

In addition to the strong metal line-up, Independence Rock XXIV will additionally be remembered for an abusive episode (yet again!)

Exchange of words among musicians and crowd, has for long been a part of Independence Rock concerts(apparently, this has intimidated many bands!). Last year it was Chennai based Rainbow Bridge that had to face the crowds rage. This time it was Noida based Seize Her.

It started with abuses that came from a certain section of the crowd while the band was performing  Seize Her vocalist Akshat Bhardwaj retorted to these abuses by saying, You know why Common Wealth Games are happening in Delhi and not Mumbai? – it’s because Mumbai has M****** F***** like you….

Wadia quickly intervened, We are all grown up’s here – lets not abuse musicians,… he told everybody present. We all are here to have a nice time. If they (the band) want to act like children, let them, you behave like grown-ups,… he said.

Independence Rock to go International next year

Meanwhile, Wadia also announced that next year, as the competition completes 25 years, Independence Rock will go international and will feature international headlining acts and participants.
