MUMBAI: ‘Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai’ rapper, Badshah will soon release his single ‘DJ Waley Babu’, and expects it to become another blockbuster. The track, which took three days to complete, is mid-tempo and has been created with the sole of getting listeners to dance to his tunes.
“It took me just three days to make this song. It has some guitaring and beats, and once that is in place, it did not take too long to create the track. I always make music to entertain people, so that they can let their hair down, forget everything and dance to my songs. As it is these days, people lead very stressful lives,” revealed Badshah. The rapper will also be trying his hand at various other genres of music to avoid getting type casted in the music industry, he said.
Apart from the upcoming track, Badshah recently crooned a rap anthem for private radio station- MY FM. “When MY FM, invited me to sing the rap anthem, I went to their studio, and their song selection process was completely mesmerising. So I thought, why not include the process in the rap part. I wrote the lyrics accordingly, and they loved it,” he added. The ‘Saturday Saturday’ hitmaker, recently, also sung the track ‘Chaar Shanivar’ from the film ‘All Is Well’ and ‘Selfie Le Le’ from ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.

While he admits that he does not understand EDM, Badshah adds the dance music element to his songs. However, he feels that Bollywood should not lose it melody quotient, as it is its main strength. “We have been born and brought up with melodies that we have been listening to for ages, and suddenly if there are no lyrics and just music, it will take away a lot for Bollywood,” he elaborated.
Badshah also added that he does not idolise any rapper from the west, as he feels that they have been brought up in a very different atmosphere. Citing the example of Grammy winning rapper- Eminem, he said, “In his songs he refers a lot to his relationship with his mother, and but my relationship with my mother is great. Though we do learn a lot about bars and meters,” he added.
