MUMBAI: Popular boy band Backstreet Boys will celebrate its 20 years of musical togetherness in 2013 with a third majestic cruise tour in Bahamas.
The high seas adventure ‘Backstreet Boys Cruise 2013’ embarking the reunion is scheduled for 25 -28 October next year. While sailing to Bahamas Island for the band’s private island beach party, the cruise will lend an opportunity for fandom to spend three-day onboard along with boys.
After an hiatus of seven years, the band comprising of Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and AJ MCLean is currently recording its untitled album and is hopeful of getting it ready by January 2013. Richardson quit the group in 2006 to concentrate on a solo career, but rejoined the group in 2011.
Richardson said, “2013 is gonna be a big year for us, it’s our 20th anniversary. We’re in the studio right now working on an album, so we’re gonna have that ready hopefully by the beginning of next year.”
Speaking about the tour, MCLean and Littrell further added, “And also, next year, just so you guys know, there will be a Backstreet Boys cruise with all five (bandmates).The BSB Cruise presale starts Oct. 3rd! Party with all 5 of the boys!” Organized in association with the Rose Tours, the presale for cruise will start from 3 October followed by public sale on 4 October 2012.
Next year will also get more special for the band as the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has honoured them with the ‘Walk of Fame star’ along with other 24 shortlisted recipients.
The group has sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band of all time and one of the world’s best-selling music artists. According to Billboard, they are the first group since Sade to have their first seven albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200.
