MUMBAI: Our hearts sank in when Avici’s saddening death news broke out on 20 April 2018. We had lost one of the famous music gems in the world. But did that turn out as an eye opener for the music industry that has been plagued by stress and mental health issues just like the film industry?
Earlier Avicii had spoken about his mental health struggles in his documentary called Avicii True Stories. A video about Avcii suffering from Pancreatitis and been be put on medications had gone earlier during his lifetime. His tour performances too did cause his schedule getting even more hectic.

Honestly Avicii’s demise is a true awakening for the music Industry to consider mental health as a grave issue and ‘something’ that can truly affect a musicians career. Pressurizing to a point where an artist can no longer perform is something that respective people need to take care off.
Even in his last interview, Avicii had spoken about his work load and that he had so much going on and that happened to be the reason he took an ‘eight month break’. Avicii decided to put a stop to his career at 26 years of age. Despite being the highest paid DJs in the world he decided to take a step back from his frantic schedule.
Just a few days before he passing away the six track EP was nominated for 2018 Billboard Music Awards for best dance electronic album.
The hit maker who was known for tracks like Wake Me Up, Waiting For Love will always be remembered for the remarkable hits he has given.
A big lesson learnt from Avicii’s death is that DJs shouldn’t be taken for granted, and one should support mental health out of all the rising problems.
Meanwhile, in certain interviews with Radioandmusic, a few DJs had confirmed that lack of sleep did challenge them.
