MUMBAI: Disney movies have long been known for their music and original soundtracks. But not long from now, classics like ‘Circle of Life’ from ‘The Lion King’ and Academy Award winning ‘Let it Go’ from ‘Frozen’ will be getting an EDM makeover by some of today’s top DJs like Avicii and Armin van Buuren.
On Tuesday, Walt Disney Records revealed that it will be releasing a new album titled ‘Dconstructed’ which will see 14 of their most memorable songs remixed. The album which is set for release on 22 April will include tracks from several Disney movies including ‘Aladdin’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘TRON: Legacy’, ‘Toy Story’ and ‘The Incredibles’. Artistes that have been roped in for the album include Kaskade, Shy Kidx, DJ Mat Zo, Alfred Montejano and many more.
In a statement Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren revealed his excitement about remixing ‘Let It Go’. He said, “I feel incredibly honored to have remixed an Oscar-winning song — though I didn’t know that yet when I started.”
‘Wake me Up’ DJ- Avicii also released a statement about the upcoming project stating, “My first remix of Daft Punk’s ‘TRON: Legacy’ was so long ago, but it was a significant moment of recognition in my career. It’s great to be a part of it again, to refresh the track, and to let everyone hear Negin’s voice.”
