MUMBAI: DAB+ digital Radio service has officially launched in Australia and Perth is the first city to get digital radio with the launch of nine stations today.
The nine commercial radio stations that went online include Mix 94.5, 92.9, Nova 93.7, 6PR, 96 fm, 6ix, Radar, Pink Radio and Novanation.
It is said to be a historic day for radio broadcasting with the first permanent digital radio services commencing in Australia.

The switch to digital radio is the culmination of seven years work with the Federal Government, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), commercial broadcasters, the ABC and SBS, together with retailers and manufacturers of digital radios.
The other city where digital radio services are to commence include Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
