MUMBAI: Amit Mishra, who debuted as a composer with the Ashwini Dheer directed comic caper ‘Athiti Tum Kab Jaoge’ recently, surely subscribes to a different school of thought
Prior to getting into films, Mishra scored for a number of TV serials, and composed jingles. He reveals that he had to compose the music at a very shot notice, “I had to complete everything in just two days.”
Among his other songs, the recreated version of Jyoti Jalaile based on Vishal Bharadwaj’s Beedi Jalaile was a tough one to crack, he says, That song was the producer’s idea of a devotional song – he wanted a typical devotional song that are often hear in villages that are sung to a popular Bollywood tune…

Speaking about the short life of the songs that have been releasing of late, Mishra says, “A song only remains in public memory as long as the promos are on, and all the songs sound more or less the same as all the producers want composers to create something that will work well in the discotheques and for the ringtones.”
While the score for Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge doesn’t give listeners a pan of Mishra’s full potential, it does give listeners a peek into his style. Before signing off, the affable composer says, “I won’t call this as my proper break. I think, it’s yet to come.”
