MUMBAI: AROI (Association of radio operators of India) announced its 2009 annual event to be held on 12 November 2009, at The Hotel Maurya, New Delhi. The main focus of the event would be the theme Radio- Vision 2010″, which is the year of major leap forward for radio with the forthcoming announcement of Phase III.
This day also marks Mahatma Gandhi’s first and only broadcast on radio. Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni would inaugurate Radio-Vision2010….
Eminent delegates from I&B includes Raghu Menon (Secretary), Uday Kumar Verma (Addl Secretary), Zohra Chatterji (Joint Secretary), India Today MD Anil Mehra, RIL President Rajesh Shawney, Radio city CEO and AROI President Apurva Purohit, Radio Mirchi CEO Prashant Pandey, Big FM CEO Tarun Katial.
The objectives of the event are as follows:
1-Discussing and sharing “Vision for 2010” , which would be a landmark year for the FM Radio services in India, where 600 More Radio Stations are likely to be aired in 2010, giving employment to 15000 people. Further the Phase III policy will allow almost limitless content including sports, current affairs and news The proposed Phase III recommendations are sweeping – networking across stations, content freedom, more FDI, multiple frequencies, etc.
2-Creating Profits to generate resources for evangelizing radio/media including Region Wise Events.
3-Creating Opportunities for Suppliers to Showcase Equipment / Services to the top leaders and players of FM Radio.
