MUMBAI: Offering enthralling experience to music aficionados, mozart of music AR Rahman is all set to perform a live concert on 26 May at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.
The concert will feature Rahman’s original scores specially conceptualised for the concert, along with some of his all time classics from films like Roja, Bombay, Dil se and Rockstar. The concert will witness state of art technology and visual effects along with an unplugged segment by the genius where he will render qawwali’s like ‘Khwaja’ and ‘Kunfaya’. Rahman will also play the piano and sitar with violinist Anne Marie and other vocalists.
The musical evening will also feature popular drummer and composer Ranjit Barot as musical director of the concert. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Barot said, “It gives me great pleasure to perform with my friend and one of our greatest composers AR Rahman, and to reinterpret some of his songs as musical director for his concerts. His body of work is so vast that it has allowed me to explore through many genres, which is a rare thing.”
Rahman who is currently composing for his next Hollywood movie ‘People Like Us’ and Dhanush’s Tamil movie ‘Mariyaan’ was recently conferred with an American Honorary Doctorate from Miami University.
