MUMBAI: The Anoushka-Jethro Tull concert in Mumbai, which had been put off due to the terror attacks last week, will now happen on 5 December at the Shanmukhananda Hall, Mumbai.
The Anoushka-Andherson duo skipped the Mumbai leg of the tour due to the attacks and continued with their tour at other venues. On Sunday, they performed at Hamsadhwani stadium in Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Keeping in mind the recent tragic events, the spokesperson for the band, lead vocalist and flautist Ian Anderson, appealed to the 5000 strong audience on Sunday night to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the victims at the Delhi concert.
Anderson then announced that they were planning a benefit concert when they perform in Mumbai.
Anouskha Shankar was also supposed to make an appearance on 7 December 2008 for the Live Earth concert in Mumbai, along with a host of other international musicians and celebrites The rest of the Anoushka-Jethro Tull concerts are scheduled for Bengaluru on 2 December and Hyderabad on 3 December.
