MUMBAI: Renowned bollywood singers Shaan, Kailash Kher and Shankar Mahadevan have crooned a special track dedicated to the legendary singer/composer Bhupen Hazarika, who passed away last year.
The tribute track â€?O Bhupen Hazarika’ released on Universal Music has been directed and produced by renowned composer Vicckey Goswami.

Speaking on the special tribute track, Shaan said, Vicckey Goswami is a very dear old friend of mine. He told me that he has started creating this song while Bhupen da was still alive as a tribute to him because they both belonged to Assam and he is very influenced and inspired by Bhupen da . For me of course it was a double treat to work with Vicckey Goswami and pay my tribute for Bhupen Hazarika. I’m very happy to be a part of this song.”

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika was a multifaceted genius- great poet, music composer, singer, actor, journalist, author and film-maker. He was the pioneer of Assam’s film industry in the Northeast, and has been hailed as the uncrowned king of North-Eastern India’s cultural world. Bhupen Da passed away at the age of 85 on 5th November 2011.
