MUMBAI: Music composer Amit Trivedi who earlier scored for off-beat films like Dev D, Aamir and (most recently) Udaan also scored his first mainstream Bollywood film ‘Aisha’. The music of this Sonam Kapoor – Abhay Deol starrer was released on the web recently.
Amit Trivedi rose to fame with Dev D’s Emotional Atyachaar which became an overnight youth anthem after its release.
However, Trivedi is a little anxious about the feedback for his first mainstream score. “I am sure the core fans will be a bit disappointed, but I hope they enjoy,” he said.

While films like Dev D fall into his “comfort zone”, the young music composer said there was a reason behind choosing a commercial film like Aisha.
“I just didn’t want to be typecasted. I wanted to see, and try something new,” he told radioandmusic.com
Trivedi has worked with a bunch of fresh voices like Nikhil D’Souza, Samrat Kaushal, Raman Mahadevan Anusha Mani and Neuman Pinto for Aisha’s music as opposed to working with already established singers. The album, in all, has six tracks and two remixes.
While most of the team working on this film was young, Trivedi said there was one “odd man” – lyricist Javed Akhtar. “He is very tuned in to the youth sensibilities,” he said appreciatively.
“I had worked with Javedsaab on Wakeup Sid’s Iktara, and that’s how our relationship started. The first time I met him, I was too nervous – he is not only a great writer, but also a genuine human being.”
Among his forthcoming films are Udaan (July release), children’s film Chiller Party (October release) and No one killed Jessica.
