MUMBAI: Music composer Amit Trivedi, who composed the music of UTV Spot Boy’s â€?Aamir’ earlier this year, has been signed by the production house for two more films -â€?Dev. D’ and â€?Condition applied’. Both projects are part of the 16 film deal that UTV has signed with T-Series.
Dev.D, scheduled for a December 2008 release, boasts 15 tracks, an album that Trivedi says would be the â€?Baap of different genres’ with each track sounding distinctively from the other. “I love exploring and there are two Punjabi tracks peculiar in their own way, one is raw Punjabi and the other has a street band baaja flavour to it. There is a romantic Rajasthani folk track apart from a hard rock song, world music, an Awadhi number and a song with 1970’s-80’s pop touch to it….
Even his earlier work, â€?Aamir’ had a lot of variety like â€?Ha Raham’ has a sufi element to it, â€?Ghumyo’ had an Indian flavour and â€?Haara’ was a western track.

Dev. D was originally Trivedi’s debut film in Bollywood offered by Anurag Kahsyap but due to some problems, the film was shelved and Kashyap recommended Trivedi for Aamir where he was the creative producer.
Trivedi is known to work with relative new talents in his albums and he is repeating the same stance except singer Amitabh who was earlier part of â€?Aamir’. Talking about other singers, he says, Out of the 15 songs, eight have been sung by Amitabh, one by Labh Janjua (Mundiya tu bachke rahe), Bonny Chakravarti who rendered the track â€?Azeem – O – Shaan Shahenshah’ from Jodhaa Akbar, Shilpa Rao, Anusha Mani, singer of â€?Lazy Lamhe’ and a new voice Tochi….
Dev. D is produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner UTV Spot Boy and is directed by Anurag Kashyap. The composer is also working on another project, â€?Condition applied’ by the same banner. It is still very premature to talk about the other project and I have just composed the title track of Condition applied yet….
