MUMBAI: Amit Sharma, the winner of Sony Reality TV Show, Waar Parriwar sings Gayi Kaam Se for the upcoming movie, Laila Majnu.
Talking about how he got this song, Amit said, “Dev Negi, is very good friend and the beloved Bollywood singer. He introduced me to Joi Barua, who is the music director of Laila Majnu. After listening my Punjabi song, Joi Barua was impressed and gave me an opportunity to sing in soft voice for Gayi Kaam Se, which is co-sung by Dev Negi.”

When asked about his experience while making the song, Sharma exclaimed, “Being a big fan of Imtiaz Ali, working for him was always my dream. I am super excited about this song and consider myself very lucky as I have struggled a lot to get a chance in this industry and I am thankful to God.”
“Besides, I enjoyed the journey and learned the knowledge of studio, which is very necessary for a singer, while working under the guidance of Joi Barua,” he added.
Hailing from Dinanagar, Punjab, Amit, who has done graduation in music, has taken inspiration from his father. From winning small competitions like Rafi Nights in his city to participating in Indian Idol in Mumbai, the singer has come a long way. He doesn’t stop here and in spite of having severe health issues, Amit continued his passion from his home town and came back again to the city of dreams.
Lastly, when asked about the future plans, he concluded, “Currently, I am focusing on this song and would love to do Bollywood playback singing if given a chance .”
The song, which is also co-sung by Meenal Jain, is out on YouTube. Directed by Sajid Ali and presented by Imtiaz Ali, Laila Majnu produced by Balaji Motions Pictures, is all set to release on 7 September.
