MUMBAI: Punjabi songster Gurudas Mann won the coveted title of ‘Versatile Singer’ at the prestigious 143rd Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards. The ceremony also conferred popular Pakistani singer Ali Zafar with the title of Phalke New Talent Award.
The event also witnessed the presence of legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip kumar and Saira Banu who unveiled the wax statute of Dada Phalke.
Other artistes present at the occasion were Kajol, Tanisha, Santosh Singh Jain, Neena Jalaan, Ram Gopal Gupta, Sangram Shirke, Anjana Sukhani, Subhash Ghai and more. The event was held on 3 May at Tulip Star hotel in Mumbai.
