MUMBAI: Singer, music composer-producer Akull released his melancholic romantic song “Bahana” and we can’t get over how hypnotized we are by both his unique sound and style. He denotes a feeling to all the couples who are away from their lovers due to the current lockdown situation.
The song was created and shot during the lockdown, written by Mellow D, under VYRL Originals. The video of “Bahana” is presented in a way as a continuation of his previous track ‘I love you’. The song has crossed 3.3 million views in less than 24hrs and is trending on #18
“Bahana” takes you through a visual and emotional journey of the couple from happier times together to a point where they are left reminiscing old memories waiting to be by each other portraying a new normal for couples in Love.

Sharing about the inspiration behind the song, “I wanted to express the feeling of couples who are away from their lovers and showcase the profound yearning to meet one another amidst lockdown”. Hence, he started to work on the hook of the melody that he created and after jamming the same with his guitarist he was really fond of the way it was sounding. There on I started developing the song.
“Bahana” is a whole package of Akull, as he has co-written, composed, produced and sung and featured in the video. The “Laal Bindi’” singer expressed that there is always a challenge to come up with a great video, thought, production and composition. It’s a constant challenge for an artist to keep making something better. When the song was completed, the idea was to create visual as well and that’s when he thought he would be able to get his vision to life by directing it himself as they didn’t have right resources but he has hope and that’s when the whole video concept came up along with his team, he could execute that very well.
Amid the lockdown this is his second song release, sharing the experience of shooting and recording, “The story of this song didn’t need anything more than a house. I felt that the story could have been easily told to everyone with this lockdown situation”. “Bahana” is a very emotional storytelling song and the video justifies the song. “The shooting went smooth because we were clear about what we wanted to showcase and the kind of emotions that needed to be let out. It was a completely different experience and I had a great time creating it”, he adds.
With the rapidly growing music industry, Akull sees himself doing a number of things, making music, singing, directing music videos, composing and singing for films.
The singer is known for his hit songs like, “Laal Bindi”, “I Love You”, “Laal Chunariya”, “O Yaara Song”, “Daaru Peekay Nachna”, “Bulandiya” and many more.
