MUMBAI: The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has announced â€?AIM Independent Music Awards’ to celebrate and recognise independent artistes, labels and companies in UK.
The awards will consist of 14 categories, out of which nine will be judged by UK’s most informed music critics, while the remaining five categories will be up for public voting.
The nominees will be unveiled in October and the award ceremony will be held on 10 November in London, hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
AIM chairman and CEO Alison Wenham said, “AIM has spent 10 years focused on helping independent music to make the most of its huge creative assets, first in the UK and lately worldwide. We were always looking outward and upward. Now with the confidence which comes from our genuine and measurable achievements in the independent sector, we want to celebrate, in a distinct and indie fashion.”
