MUMBAI: Amalgamating the brilliance of Hindustani classical notes with flawless synthesis of guitars and drums, renowned fusion band Advaita performed a gig at the launch of their second album ‘The Silent Sea.’ The album was launched on 23 February under EMI at Blue Frog in Mumbai.
‘The Silent Sea’ comprised of ten songs is produced by Advaita and Shantanu Hudlikar and is mastered by Chris Athens at Sterling Sound in New York.
Speaking about the album with Radioandmusic.com, keyboards and electronics Anindo Bose said, “The music justifies the title of the album. The 10 tracks of the album reflect the soothing sound keeping intact the much required zeal. We have tried our best to put forth our finest work through the second album.”
At the gig, the eight-member band enticed music aficionados with their performance on album tracks like Silent Sea, Spining, MoFunk and more. The pondering and addictive feel dawned on the audience as the band strummed the opening track of the album ‘Dust,’ which was consecutively followed by ingenious number Gorakh.
The gig also witnessed the presence of some of the well-known fusion artistes including multi-talented Ranjit Barot and popular singer-composer Leslie Lewis.
Promoting their latest release, the fusion band will also perform a concert on 23 February at Delhi followed by Pune.
