MUMBAI: The 36th Brit awards did not only celebrate and honour Adele’s latest ‘piece de resistance’ – her third studio album ’25’ – but the who’s who of music industry witnessed one of the finest live performances at the awards.
With four awards, Adele continued to justify the tag of ‘Queen of British Music’. Since its release, ’25’ has been making the news for all the right reasons and the record-breaking album becomes the 27-year-old’s second ‘Best Album of the Year’ at the Brit Awards. The ‘Someone Like You’ singer earlier won the award for her second studio album ’21’.
‘Best Album’ was not the only Brit award Adele managed to take home. She also won the ‘Best Single’ for the chartbreaking hit ‘Hello’, ‘Best Female Solo Artist’ and the ‘Global Success Award’.

James Bay won the Critics’ Choice award at the 2015 Brit Awards, and the singer-songwriter did not leave empty-handed at the 2016 ceremony too. The 25-year-old received the ‘Best Male Solo Artist’, and Jack Garratt took home the Critics’ Choice Award.
Justin Bieber beat Kendrick Lamar, Father John Misty, The Weeknd and Drake to win the ‘International Male Solo Artist’. Bieber previously won a Brit Award in 2011 for the ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’. The ‘International Female Solo Artist’ was awarded to Icelandic songwriter Bjork.
The 36th Brit Awards witnessed some scintilatting performances, however, Lorde and Annie Lennox’s emotional tribute to David Bowie ensured the night becomes memorable for more reasons than one. Adele, Justin Bieber and Coldplay were among the winners to perform at the event.
