MUMBAI: Remember Abhijeet Sawant?
Just to jiggle your memory a bit, he was the first winner of Indian Idol who won many a heart and went on to croon for Bollywood.
Now Abhijeet is back with a new rendition of an old Hindi favourite the Kishore Kumar sung Humein Tumse Pyar Kitna from the film Kudrat.

He explains why he chose this particular song, the lyrics of which were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
“I just love this song, it has been my favourite since my childhood and even the lyrics of the song are so beautiful,” says he.
The original features Rajesh Khanna expressing his love to the beautiful Hema Malini in the film.
For the music video of his composition, Abhijeet has opted for a storyline that features a young guy whose love is hooked to drugs and her struggle with the poison that is destroying her.
“We wanted to give a message to people that ‘say no to drugs.’ We specially wanted to spread awareness among the youngsters who are day by day getting close to such harmful things,” says the singer who is known for the single Lafzon Mein from the album, Aapka Abhijeet.
Beautiful TV and film actress Anita Hassnandani agreed to feature as his drug crazed love interest as she loved the song and also believed in the message that he was seeking to propagate through the music video. Additionally, her face is known both to the younger and older generation.
Abhijeet reveals that the song took close to two years to find its home on YouTube as music composer Ajay Sangha and he were looking for the right platform.
He started hisYouTube channel called Abhijeet Sawnt official on the streaming service in 2013 by uploading a making of video and followed it with a song Kuch Kar Maula in 2014. He, however, did not pay much attention to it.
Currently, it has 1,619 subscribers, and his first single has managed just 53,000 views since then.
But he reveals that his YouTube journey can only get better from here. And that probably is true. HumeinTumse Pyar Kitna is sprinting towards the 100,000 views mark within just four days of launching. He is looking forward upload even more singles in the days to come to enable Abhijeet Sawnt official to get a greater fan following.
“I am very happy that Humein Tumse Pyar Kitna is getting such a great response and is also being appreciated by listeners,” he says.
