MUMBAI: After fighting a long standing battle with cancer, Bollywood singer and composer -Aadesh Shrivastava – succumbed to the disease at 12.30 am on 5th September, 2015 at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Reports regarding his health had been making the rounds for the last few days. Shrivastava is said to have passed away while being surrounded by his family members.
A couple of days ago, various reports claimed that his doctors had given up on recovery as he failed to respond to any medical treatments. It was also learnt that Shrivastava’s family had turned to Tibetan doctor – Yeshi Dhonden, famous for herbal treatment, during his last stage of cancer.
Singer Sonu Nigam earlier informed Radioandmusic.com that only a miracle could save Shrivastava.

‘Meri Aashiqui’ singer Palak Muchhal confirmed the news to Radioandmusic.com saying, “We have lost a gem of a music composer and a human being. I had not only done a few shows with him but had also recorded a few tracks for him. All I remember is his smiling face.”
His last Bollywood project was the background score for the yet to be released film- ‘Welcome Back’.
Shrivastava, 49, had composed songs for a number of big Bollywood films like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Raajneeti’, ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Baghban’ and many others. His first hit came in the form of 1998 film ‘Angaarey’. He bagged the IIFA Award for his background score in the film ‘Refugee’ in 2001. The ‘Mora Piya’ singer was also a part of the jury panel for the singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ in 2009.
Shrivastava was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010, after which it relapsed in 2012, despite undergoing chemotherapy the first time round. Late last month the diseased returned, and unfortunately the composer was unable to overcome it. Shrivastava is survived by his wife and two kids.
According to sources, Shrivastava’s cremation will be held on 5th September at 12:30 pm, at a crematorium in Oshiwara, Mumbai.
