MUMBAI: Former education minister MA Baby has announced a short film to honour veteran singer KJ Yesudas for his achievements. The documentary will be jointly produced by Kairali TV and Swaralaya, a music reality show.
MA Baby said, Kairali TV has in its possession lots of visuals of the singer but that is not enough. We will also ask people to give us the songs sung by Yesudas if they have it in a book form because song books of Yesudas’ hits were commonly available in yesteryears. This will help us document all the songs sung by the veteran, as even Yesudas himself does not have a record of how many songs he has rendered….

To celebrate the golden jubilee of the singer, a musical concert will be held on 12 February featuring singers like P Susheela, S Janaki and M Jayachandran who have previously sung with Yesudas.
Yesudas has sung over 35,000 songs in 14 languages and has been conferred with Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan besides seven national and 17 state film awards.
