MUMBAI: Celebrating Diwali on the television screen, three channels from the 9X network – 9XM, 9X Jalwa and 9X Jhakaas have initiated special programming throughout the week .
9XM has created a special music video for the festival featuring jugalbandi between the sounds of firecrackers and percussion instruments. The video filmed on children depicts the celebrations of the festival, and will be aired on the channel every hour throughout the week.
Commenting on the video, 9X Media Group senior VP and content head Amar Tidke said, “Be it the acapella rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ or the ‘Taal Pranam’ video with Taufiq Qureshi, 9XM has always presented music in the most novel form to its viewers. 9XM’s Diwali special video is not only fun to watch but it’s also a unique way of wishing all a very happy Diwali.”

On the other hand, 9X Jalwa has centered its programming on the late movie and music mogul Yash Chopra. The one-hour show ‘Jalwa Jubilee Hits’ will feature Shahrukh Khan’s interview where he fondly speaks about his journey with the late filmmaker. He will also talk about his favourite Yash Chopra songs from movies like Silsila, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and more. The episode will air at 11am with a repeat at 8pm on 13 November and 8-9pm on 14 November.
Apart from that, Marathi music channel 9X Jhakaas has organized a special Diwali contest throughout the week from 12-17 November where leading celebrities from the Marathi film industry will ask questions to the viewers.
