MUMBAI: Though India has a good football team, it is not a part of FIFA. But this hasn’t dampened the spirit of Indians and the frenzy is beyond words. While, India is dominated by cricket, which has time and again reflected in our movies, football too has made its way into our movie songs. A biopic based on India’s woman boxer and Olympic medallist Mary Kom features a romantic number Sukoon Mila. This song is a musical narrative of Mary Kom and her Footballer husband’s life. Through the song, Priyanka who essays the role of Mary Kom is seen cheering her husband played by Darshan Kumar when he is scoring goals for domestic level matches.
Halla Bol – Dhana Dhan Goal:
Halla Bol is almost the anthem of the movie, starring John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Arshad Warsi. A team with Asian ethnicity sets to win a tournament in a racist environment, Halla Bol, a movie about football has to have a motivational song, shows the training part, tournament, and the winning spree that the team sees.
