MUMBAI: Various forms of art have been found to create a cognitive impact and hence they are used as a tool to make a difference. This time it’s music. Hundred drummers from across the country will come together under the United Nations banner to make ‘noise’ for the Millennium Development Goals.
The concert – â€?Stand up and take action, Make noise for the MDGs’ – will be held at the majestic Purana Qila on 18 September to urge action on the MDGs.
UN said, Despite promises by world leaders to bring about a peaceful, just and equitable world through the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), 16 people die every minute as a result of extreme hunger and 50,000 people die everyday as a result of extreme poverty….
Besides the musical event, a photo exhibition will also be held.
Asked if the concert will see participation of celebrity drummers, a UN official told PTI, “That will defeat the purpose. It is a percussionists’ event. The drummers have been invited from all across the country….
