MUMBAI: Get over your monsoon mayhem, as the following 10 albums will surely heat up your autumn this year. With brand new music by 50 Cent, Kimbra, Kanye West and Foo Fighters, fall 2014 is definitely the season of music. Read on for our Top 10 Most Anticipated Albums for autumn 2014!

1. 50 CentAnimal Ambition – June (limited release)

After enough procrastination (justifiably so), 50 Cent is finally ready with his first full length studio album in more than five years. 50 Cent is been rather occupied lately with his television series ‘Power’ being renewed for a second season. The first lead single, ‘The Funeral’ released earlier this year and we might be seeing the return of that classic 50 cent that we all fell in love with.

2. alt-JThis Is All Yours – September

The English indie rock band will be back this fall hoping for another hit, like their award winning debut album, ‘An Awesome Wave’. If the music from their debut album was not compelling enough, alt-J’s first single from their sophomore album, “Hunger of the Pine” samples a Miley Cyrus track which features Grammy Award winner Nelly. Now, that is definitely something to be excited about, don’t you think?

3. BANKSGoddess – September

If songs like ‘Before I Ever Met You’ and ‘Waiting Game’ are any indication, the L.A. songstress Banks’s debut album, ‘Goddess’, is set to be fueled with darkly seductive undertones. Known for her echo-y vocals, she has already released a string of tracks, including the Shlohmo-produced ‘Brain’ and ‘Drowning’. The sultry Rhythm and Blues artiste has affirmed her much anticipated sophomore effort will be oozing with digitized beats and gothic synths.

4. Death Cab For CutieUntitled – To Be Announced

Back in October, Billboard reported that Death Cab for Cutie were back in the studio to work on their follow-up album to 2010’s ‘Codes and Keys’. Very few details have been released so far; however the band has been pretty active on Instagram, posting photographs of guitars captioned: “Paintbrushes. #inthestudio #deathcab.”

5. Faith HillUntitled – To Be Announced

Multiple Grammy Award winning singer Faith Hill has been out of the spotlight for a while, due to her choice to focus on raising her kids. She re-emerged early this year to collaborate with fellow Grammy Award winner, Tim McGraw for a track on his new album, ‘Meanwhile Back at Mama’s’. Her label, Warner Music Nashville, confirmed to Radio.com that her album will be released this spring.

6. Foo FightersLP8 (tentative title) – To Be Announced

For their upcoming eighth album, due out this fall, the Foo Fighters are planning on doing something different. The group has decided to pack their instruments and record each track in a different city. Not only that, but the whole ordeal is being documented for an upcoming HBO series called ‘Sonic Highways’, where frontman Dave Grohl will explore the musical heritage of each location, and interview other artistes who have recorded there. Given the strong potential of this project and the remnants of 2011’s ‘Wasting Light’, there is no doubt there that success is soon to follow.

7. Frank OceanUntitled – To Be Announced

Frank Ocean left many a fans heartbroken when he threatened to leave his indelible debut album ‘Channel Orange’ as his sole statement. But, thankfully, it was a brief moment. In October 2013, when asked for a tentative release date to his new album at a BBC interview led by Zane Lowe, Ocean responded hinted, “When the summer comes around again.” In the interview, he said, “At the end of Channel Orange, there is ‘Golden Girl’ and it’s this beach scene. And I kind of wanted to extend that feel into the next record altogether.”

8. Kanye WestUntitled – To Be Announced

After every album West releases, one is left wondering how will he ever follow that. Well, we will not have to worry for long. November last year, West stated that he was working on and recording his next studio album, hoping to release it by mid-2014.

9. KimbraThe Golden Echo – August

After the critical acclaim and commercial success of her debut album ‘Vows’, Kimbra aims to treat us well with her long-awaited sophomore album, ‘The Golden Echo’. If her Instagram teases were not exciting enough, the songstress has collaborated with music legends of a variety of genres. Dave Longstreth of the Dirty Projectors, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Deantoni Parks of the Mars Volta, Ben Weinman of the Dillinger Escape Plan, John Legend, Bilal, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and Van Dyke Parks are just some of the huge names appearing on the album. The first single from the album, ’90’s Music’ was released earlier this month.

10. La RouxTrouble in Paradise – July

Elly Jackson, the vocal force behind La Roux, declared ? tout le monde that she was ‘Bulletproof’ back in 2009. Now the songstress is looking towards the retro-futurism of the 1970?s inspired music in her long-awaited sophomore full-length studio album ‘Trouble in Paradise’. La Roux recently released the first single from the album, ‘Let Me Down Gently’.
