MUMBAI: He is reclusive, candid, poignant and endearing. And if his â€?twitterati’ are to be believed, his soulful music carries off with style in his sense of humour. Lucky Ali has a cult following that ranges from fringe listeners to advocates. His music invokes a sense of travel and the unknown.
Always a leader and innovator in the stagnant Indian music industry, he has released his masterpiece of 5 years and his new album Xsuie completely and exclusively online. Taking this one step forward Lucky Ali met up with his fans on the social network Twitter for an intimate and personal t??te-? -t??te: making him the first Indian celebrity to do so.
Dressed in a white shirt and a salt and pepper stubble accentuating his implied sense of simplicity, he interacted with his Twitter fans and spoke at length about his musical journey and his latest album Xsuie. The tweetup was organised by Superchooha, the social media agency that manages Lucky’s online presence.
“I first used Twitter on my iPhone in Mauritius. And it soon became an addiction as the best way to reach out to my fans quickly. This is not a medium for me to sell my music, but to connect with my music lovers”, says the maestro.
To the fans delight, the tweetup was full of Lucky narrating some very humorously entertaining anecdotes. The crowd also got to jam with Lucky on one of his favourite songs â€?Tu kaun hai’! “You don’t get to jam with legends like Lucky Ali in concerts, do we?”, said an elated fan.
On a parting note Lucky said that you are as good as your last success in this industry.
