MUMBAI: A new online album from Blogswara, a non-commercial project to promote independent music, has been released online on January 1st, 2012. The album is titled Trunk Call… and it has four multi-lingual songs in Hindi, Malayalam, English and Arabic.
Blogswara was born in 2006 with the aim to promote independent and amateur music by exploring the possibilities of Internet and has published seven online albums so far. The songs which have no limitations of language were made possible by singers, lyricists and musicians from across the world, even without seeing each other. Though the project was originally intended to be a one-time album to publish songs from music bloggers, it has opened up to the musicians around the world with the release of its third music album.
About 87 people have been part of this project to the date, most of whom are unknown musicians/lyricists/orchestrators that pursue music as a passion. Another peculiar nature of this project is that it’s a completely non-profit project and those who participate and organize the project do so without any commercial benefit or advertisements. This is where people make and share their music just because of their love to the art. Those who visit the website can listen to the whole songs or download MP3s (that suits their internet connectivity and bandwidth) for completely free. With more than 65 original and never-before-published songs, Blogswara is into its 6th year.
