SMC Recordings Inc. Increases Revenue Streams With Placement in #1 Movie – Expands Into Asian Markets While Continuing to Flourish With Rakim

MUMBAI: SMC Recordings Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SMCE) — SMC’s current expansion is beginning to bear fruit. The company recently licensed “Money Ain’t a Thing,” a track by SMC’s artist, southern rapper Lil Atlanta from Trillville for the film “The Blind Side.” The film stars Golden Globe-nominee Sandra Bullock, country superstar Tim McGraw and Academy-Award winner Kathy Bates. “The Blind Side” held the #1 spot in the country, beating out the teen vampire drama, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

SMC has also just completed a distribution deal that will open the Asian market to the company’s bevy of products. Partnering with Star Search, SMC’s distribution network now reaches China, Taiwan, South Korea, The Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. An exclusive deal with Ward/Avex solidifies the Japanese market.

As SMC continues to mine new revenue streams, current projects are still soaring. In their ongoing relationship with #1 online music retailer in the country, SMC/Ra Records recording artist Rakim shares his “Artist Playlist” with over 25 million users a day on the iTunes’ Music home page. The playlist features some of Rakim’s personal favorite songs including music by Jay-Z, Kool Moe Dee, Tupac and Rakim’s own aunt, soul sensation Ruth Brown. “The timing couldn’t be more perfect,” says co-founder and CEO Ralph Tashjian. “iTunes only chooses noteworthy artists for this playlist and it raises the project’s credibility and visibility.” On the sales front, the re-order pattern for “the Seventh Seal” has been steady and impressive. Retailers across the board including national chain retailers and one stop accounts servicing independent stores are all stocking up on the album just in time for the holidays.
